With its Certificate of Acceptance, ETICS confirmed that the Institute meets the requirements of EN ISO/IEC 17065 and the rules of the European schemes, entitling it to operate as a Certification Body within the ENEC and CIG schemes.

ENEC is the European certification mark for electrical products, showing that they comply with European safety standards. Unlike the self-declared CE marking, ENEC involves independent testing, factory inspection and regular surveillance, and is recognised by buyers and authorities across Europe.

Certification and testing cover luminaires (LITE category) to the EN 60598 series of standards, in the following areas:

• general requirements and tests
• fixed general purpose luminaires
• recessed luminaires
• luminaires for road and street lighting
• portable general purpose luminaires

The Institute is listed in the ENEC register both as a Certification Body and as a Testing Laboratory.
